FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common questions from EPC engineers and procurement teams about gas compressor units

What types of gas compressors do you supply?

Lmart supplies three main compressor types as complete packaged units: oil-injected screw compressors (API 619) for moderate-flow, moderate-pressure duty; centrifugal compressors (API 617) for high-flow applications up to 600,000 Nm³/h; and reciprocating compressors (API 618) for high-pressure services up to 16.0 MPa. Each type is selected based on the gas composition, flow rate, pressure ratio, and process requirements defined in the project specification.

What gas services and applications are supported?

Our gas compressor packages serve petrochemical process gas, natural gas gathering and pipeline boosting, fuel gas boosting, flash gas and vapor recovery, LNG boil-off gas re-compression, industrial gases (nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, CO&sub2;), and refrigerant compression (ammonia, propylene, mixed refrigerants). We engineer each package for the specific gas composition, molecular weight, and operating conditions provided in the client’s process datasheet.

What certifications and standards do the packages meet?

Compressor packages are designed to API 617, API 618, or API 619 depending on type. Pressure-containing components are manufactured under ASME BPVC Section VIII (U-Stamp) or PED 2014/68/EU (CE marking). Electrical systems comply with ATEX or IECEx for hazardous area classification. Our facility holds ISO 9001:2015 certification and supports third-party inspection by DNV, BV, Lloyd’s, TÜV, and client-appointed inspectors.

What is the typical capacity and pressure range?

Our gas compressor packages cover flow rates from 1,200 to 600,000 Nm³/h and discharge pressures from 0.12 to 16.0 MPa. Driver power ranges from 75 to 2,000 kW. Screw compressors typically handle flows up to 10,000 m³/h at pressures to 4.5 MPa, centrifugal compressors serve high-volume applications, and reciprocating units address high-pressure requirements. Isentropic efficiency is ≥ 85% with 99.5% reliability.

What is included in the package scope?

Each skid-mounted package includes the compressor, electric motor driver, suction scrubber/knockout drum, gas aftercooler and intercooler, lube oil system (API 614), oil separation with coalescing elements (<3 ppm carryover), PLC control panel with HMI, vibration monitoring (API 670), safety relief valves (API 520/521), anti-vibration baseframe, and all on-skid piping, valves, and wiring. A complete Vendor Data Book with FAT records is delivered.

What is the lead time for a gas compressor package?

Standard gas compressor packages are delivered in 14–20 weeks from order confirmation. Custom-engineered packages with full EPC documentation, hazardous-area electrical, and third-party inspection typically require 20–28 weeks. All pressure vessels and heat exchangers are manufactured in-house at our ~38,000 m² Zhangjiagang facility, eliminating sub-vendor coordination delays. A detailed milestone schedule with hold/witness points is issued at kickoff.
