FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common questions from EPC engineers about skid-mounted system procurement
What documentation do you supply with each skid?
Every skid ships with: general arrangement drawings, P&ID, equipment datasheets, electrical single-line diagram (SLD), cable schedules, ITP/QCP, WPS/PQR, NDT records, FAT report with loop check and performance test results, cause-and-effect matrix, spare parts list, and complete MDR (Manufacturer’s Data Report).
Can the skids be delivered for ATEX/IECEx hazardous zones?
Yes. We select Ex-rated instruments, motors, junction boxes, and lighting per the area classification (Zone 1/2 or Zone 21/22). Implementation includes proper earthing, Ex-certified cable glands, ATEX/IECEx labeling, and full compliance documentation. Zone drawings and hazardous area dossiers are included in the MDR.
What is the typical lead time?
Standard skids: 10–16 weeks ex-works. Complex multi-discipline packages (compression + refrigeration + controls): 16–22 weeks. Lead time depends on BOM complexity, long-lead instrumentation, and classification society or Notified Body reviews. A detailed production schedule with hold/witness points is issued at order confirmation.
What compressor standards do you work with?
We integrate compressors per API 619 (oil-injected and dry screw), API 617 (centrifugal), and API 618 (reciprocating). Auxiliary systems include lube oil, seal gas, pulsation dampeners, and interstage cooling. Package scope covers the skid frame, piping (ASME B31.3), control panel, and safety systems (ESD, gas detection).
Do you support marine class approvals for skid packages?
Yes. We prepare class documentation packages for DNV, ABS, BV, and CCS. This includes type-approval drawings, material certificates, welding qualifications, and NDT reports aligned with the surveyor’s requirements. We have delivered BOG compressor skids for PIL container vessels and cargo heater skids for the customer LPG/NH₃ carriers.
How are skids designed for transport and site installation?
All skids are designed with modular structural frames sized for road and sea transport (within standard container or flat-rack dimensions where possible). Lift points, center-of-gravity markings, and transport locks are standard. For oversized modules, we provide rigging studies and transport engineering. Site connections are clearly tagged and documented in the GA drawing to minimize field work.
